Over a period of two years, we have been working with the Urban Energy Systems Lab of EMPA and KCAP Zurich on behalf of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) to investigate the effects of urban densification of areas and neighbourhoods on overall energy demand. The results of our research project 'Urban densification and its impact on the energy consumption of Swiss cities' are intended to provide support for spatial and urban planning decision-making processes in Switzerland.
